Richfield Part 1

The third week in September is the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree in Richfield Utah.
This was my 10 year to attend, and every year is a lot of fun.

Kevin Arrington, getting the Jamboree started.
Monday morning is registration and getting your shirts and passes, then introductions of all that put on the event, from the City and Forest Service, it is great to have such support to host this event.

Clean and ready to hit the trails, John on the red Honda.
Everyone meets at the park for the rides, Monday is usually a short ride, since there is a welcome dinner Monday evening. Always a treat to see friends again that we have met through the Jamboree.

A stop along the trail to make sure everyone is still here.
Our first ride was to Rockwood, North of town and up into the mountains. The leaves are just starting to turn on the trees, and Rockwood is loaded with Aspens! Our guides were Richard and Shauna, and we had a small group of 14, just right for a ride. The weather was just perfect, low 40's in the morning and warming up to the 80's, clear and sunny days, you couldn't ask for better riding weather.

Some on the trees starting to change.
With elevations from 5000, to just under 12,000 feet, the views and colors change rapidly.

A couple of examples of the trails we rode on.
Aspens, oaks pines, junipers, all sorts of trees to travel through, some trails are narrow enough the trees make a tunnel through the woods.

At the end of the day there is still enough energy to pose for a picture.

First day ride 60 miles, and as we returned back to the park, I had to switch to reserve on my bike, fortunately only a mile or two back to the KOA and refuel for tomorrow,

Our guides for the day, Richard and Shauna. And the unknown 3rd guide.

Thanks for the ride, and fun trails. Richard ran the trail backward from the normal route, gives a different perspective, and you get to see some things you didn't going the other way
