Richfield ATV Jamboree part 2 Tuesday

Tuesday we had a ride to Hancock Flats, started with trailering the bikes to Koosharem, about 30 miles.
We unloaded at Napoleon's Pizza and headed out and up, our first stop was Koosharem reservoir, where we learned a little history about the valley and pioneers, each time they started a settlement they created the reservoirs for water.

Getting our history lesson.
From here we traveled on down the trail, but really up the trail. with a few stops along the way to see the leaves and regroup.

John taking a break.
As we reached Hancock Flat we grouped back together and enjoyed the view from 11,000 feet. unfortunately there was a lit of smoke and haze from several fires burning in nearby states, so visibility was a little limited.

View from the mountain onto Fish lake.
The Group on top of the mountain.
From here we traveled up the trail just a little further, to end of the trail, and 11,388 feet. From here there are hiking trails. As we arrived there was already a quad at the trail head, and we did not make to much note of it until we started to leave and our tail guide was waiting around for the rider of the extra quad. And we were waiting for our tail guide, after several minutes our guide went back to see what was happening, and realized that our tail was doing her part to keep everyone together, and this bike was not part of our group.

Phone did not work but the GPS did

After the snack break and a ride back down to Koosharem we had lunch at Napoleon's Pizza, a new place in town, and really good Pizza. They had really interesting light fixtures, they were buckets that housed the lights, and the fountain drink stand had a Ford tailgate built into it.

Another great ride and up into mountains that we had not been before.
Every once and a while you make a wrong turn and need to back track. John had a new Gopro camera and it was mounted on my bike on Tuesday and we played with it a little bit to see what it will do.
With it mounted to the handle bars we thought it would be a lot more choppy than it turned out, very impressed the the camera so far.

It doesn't seem too hazy. It looks beautiful.
