Saturday morning we decided to take a trip to Tucson and visit the Gadsen Pacific toy train show.
Adam, Devin, and Elexa came along for the ride. As we made the trip, we passed Picacho Peak, a landmark in the book, The Host (soon to be movie in March)

Soon we arrived at the convention center and were inside to check our the trains, there were several operating layouts and some of them had controls for kids to operate as well as buttons to push to blow whistles and sound buzzers.

Devin and Elexa... Kids just love trains. |
There was a N scale layout that was assembled in modules, tracks had to be in certain places to attach to other modules, in between they could do anything they wanted. This layout came from Pennsylvania so it had the Tasty Kake factory as one of the modules.

After the train show we headed back home by way of Oracle and Florence, South of Oracle is Peppersauce canyon, and Peppersauce cave, in the canyon are fossils, since Ginger likes old rocks we made the trip to try to find some.

Oracle is only about an hour drive from the house, we were surprised at the amount of snow that we found there. It was fun as well as cold.

We had a great time, and will have to make the trip back when it warms up and maybe take a side trip into the cave.
