The Ultimate Gift
On November 8th, 2008, Katherine invited Mara Pearleanne (7lbs 10 oz, 20 1/2 inches tall) into our family. We spent two days with her at the hospital with family and friends joining us to celebrate. Monday, November 10th, we took her to a loving couple (Josh & Liz) who had mourned the loss of 5 of their own children. Katherine's bitter sweet decision to share and protect Mara by placing her in their family was a difficult one. We sat in the office and all cried together. You will find a link to their blog on this page and hopefully come to love them as we have. Pictures and information of Mara will be there to help comfort our souls as we rejoice in their joys. As we as a family mourn , please let us remember that we all have a Heavenly Father who loves us and will give us the peace and comfort we seek if we will but pray to him and ask. Please let us come together in love and seek to comfort each other at this time. I love all of you, mom/Ginger

What a beautiful baby she is. I am so proud of Kathy's unselfish choice! I can't imagine how hard this is. Congratulations to Josh and Liz and their family!!
What a beautiful gift and what a blessed baby Mara is to have so many families to love her.
Yep -- "blurry eyed" here, too. I just tell people that tears run in our family.
I can imagine what a difficult decision this was for Kathy and for all of you, but what a blessing for Mara.
