September 24 and 25 the Apache Junction Scouts had their Fall Camporee at Sycamore Creek, just North of Sunflower. The scouts had a short backpack hike, was supposed to be a mile (but with the first day of hunting season being the same day camping spaces were in short supply) they only had a .3 mile hike. Friday night had skits and songs, around the campfire. Saturday morning activities included a nature scavenger hunt, semaphore signaling, wilderness survival kits, cat food can stoves, and LED flashlights in film canisters. The boys had a good time and were not do depressed about the short hike in. We'll make it up nest time.

what is a cat food can stove? is that like the coffee can/tuna can stove the girl scouts make?
Cat food can with holes punched into the side of it and then filled with some denatured alcohol
Are you saying that you got the scouts drunk? Someone was drunk when they typed in the last two sentences....
