May in Utah

We made a trip to Utah to visit Cristal and see her dance performance. We took 89 through Jacobs lake and then to Kanab. From there hi way 14 over the mountain to Cedar City. there was snow still on the ground and plenty of wild life to see.

Some Deer

Snow on the ground, nearly 10,000 feet
We continued on to Provo with only a minor altercation with a dumb driver that wouldn't leave us alone. We passed him and then he passed us slowed down, did  this a few times before he finally got off the road, without injury. ( I was already taking inventory of where the tools were in the trunk, just in case). We made it safely to Jordan and Cristal's house.
We went to the Salt Lake Temple Friday morning, it is amazing inside of this temple. John waited for us outside and got a tour of the conference center, and even got escorted to the garden on the roof.

We spent Saturday with Elsie, visiting Promontory Point Utah and the Golden Spike National Park, teaching her about trains, then we went to Ogden to the Union Station Museum, for what? More trains, classic cars and Browning Rifles, Then back to Salt Lake so we could take some pictures around the temple grounds.

Then on to the museum. There were several locomotives on display out side, from steam to diesel and even the turbine locomotive. They are huge!
Union Pacific #833, the wheels are 6 feet tall.

Ginger next to a DD40X, probably the largest diesel Locomotive.
Elsie on a HAND car, notice it eats hands.

Like to play with light and focus.

Got to have some flowers.
And a fountain.

While in Utah we had lunch at the Red Iguana in Salt Lake with Aubrey Winn, she was a missionary serving in Mesa AZ and has finished and gone back home. Lunch was good, if your in Salt Lake and want some Mexican food, check this place out.
Our stop in Beaver was for Sister Amber Mitchell, who is currently serving her mission in Mesa AZ. so we had to stop and get her some Cache Valley Cheese Curds, or squeaky cheese, and it does squeak when you eat it.
4 days and a lot of running around, we only saw Jordan a couple of times he was training for a Marine celebration for Memorial Day.
No Pictures of Cristal's performance, but it was amazing, there were close to 40 dances and they went off one right after another, very well done and obviously Cristal was the star of the show.

Odd you say that, at one point there was a guy behind me that I had to look twice, looked a lot like dad.
