Frankenstein

In 1982 Omar bought this crew cab  with a 6.2 liter diesel, the first year for this engine. It was OK, and a lot better than the 5.7 that it replaced. Fast forward 300,000 miles, to 1994, it died a terrible death blown head gaskets and coolant coming out the exhaust, (that's not a good thing).
So it sat at the fortress of Omar for about 11 years. till 2006. My 1975 truck gets stolen.
Omar offered the diesel, and all I have to do is build a new engine.

Well the 6.2 is replaced with a 6.5, and is fitted with a Banks Turbo, the trans is rebuilt, the interior is gutted (not the best decision) and the doors a re exchanged for doors with power windows and locks.
After several hours and lots of dollars, it took its first breath of life today 5/30/2011!!!
Only a few minor leaks, just loose fittings on the turbo oil line and the trans cooler lines at the radiator.
That rattle is the heart beat of the diesel. now just a few more things to finish, bolt down the seats, wire the doors, get Rachael to redo the rear seat, add carpet, replace the front springs, replace the master cylinder..........run the exhaust out to  the back.......
but hey IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!
