We Love You Dad

The day that would never come, has come and passed. Dad passed away Feb 24, 2009. He left us with lots of memories and challenges. Sometime in the last week he went to Budapest, and I am sure that he found a train to ride, and found the hiden cafe to eat at, and did this by only using back roads. Dad we Love you thanks for the example you are for us.

God be with you till we meet again,

Keep love's banner floating o'er you,

Smite death's threat'ning wave before you,

God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,

Till we meet at Jesus' feet,

Till we meet, till we meet,

God be with you till we meet again.

Valentines Day

Thanks to all who were part of Dad and Ellens day, We got to meet new family and laugh and got to know each other, and Bill and Brenda got to reminisce (probably spelled wrong). I am extremely grateful for the pictures that were taken that afternoon, thanks for putting up with us.

As things have suddenly changed, please keep us in your prayers, I know that the Lord hears and answers them. We love you all and thank you. Thank you especially Ellen, we love you too!

It's surprising how just the little things make big memories. Michael's dad started this tradition, the making of the candy hearts. Michael has been doing it for the children that still live with us ever since I can remember. The only heartbreak we have had with it has been when someone moves out and discovers that he doesn't do delivery. I love being a Gillespie.

The Frog and the Princess
There once was a princess who knew much beauty,
Who's father was king and had a lot of duty.
Most fine days in the forest she played,
Throwing her rich golden ball, which never did fade.
But one warm day, the ball she had missed,
And it rolled down the earth to the deep fountains midst.
And she cried and she cried until there appeared,
An ugly, green frog, who seemed very weird.
He said to the girl, "I will get your ball dear,
But what will I get in return?" Asked he most sincere.
"Whatever you desire," She desperately replied,
For all she wanted could be obtained by the lie.
The frog then demanded much that was long overdue,
"I want you to love me, To play with me too,
To sleep in your bed, to eat off your plate,
To sit at your table and be inside your gate."
To this the princess hastily agreed,
For the frog could give her all that she need.
So the frog dived down deep, to return the possession,
And when he came back, she had no affection.
She ran very quick, all the way to her home,
Leaving the frog feeling sad and alone.
And the next day, while at the table he sat,
She heard at the door an incessant "splish, splash"
Which suddenly stopped followed by a quick tap.
"Open the door, my princess," The voice yapped.
When the princess opened the door to see who was there,
The thing which she saw gave her much despair.
It was the green frog, whom she slammed the door on,
And returned to her seat looking like a moron.
But as the king asked, "Who was that my child?"
The daughter slowly answered, "A frog I beguiled,
I promised him much, but gave him nothing,
For I thought I could escape by rapidly leaving."
"How could you be so vile and mean,
To reject something so thoughtful, nice and green?
Go answer the door, you ungrateful girl.
And let that frog in, to give him a whirl."
She slunk from the chair and trudged to open the door.
And forced a small smile that the frog did adore.
"Now princess please let me eat from your plate."
The frog was held up and happily ate.
"I am done and am tired," The frog lazily said.
"Please take me to your room and put me in your nice little bed."
The girl hesitated, but looked to her dad,
Who gave her a look that she knew was quite bad.
So she picked him up and carried him up.
With only two fingers, to her bedroom above.
But when she was there, she threw him abroad.
Cause she never did like the ugly green frog.
But as he collapsed to the cold, clean floor,
It wasn't the frog who was there anymore.
But a handsome young prince, who as she could tell,
Was dead as can be, right there where he fell.
The king rushed in, hearing the clatter.
And angrily asked, "What in the world is the matter?"
"Another one is dead," The princess then sighed.
"That's the fifth one this week, I'll never be a bride!"

Mom decided that we needed something on the blog spot about me, her favorite 15 year old daughter. So she had me put this poem up that I did for an English class and one of the pictures we took of me last week, hope you enjoyed it!

Julias Spelling Bee

Our first spelling bee participant. Not that her mother can spell, but she was wonderful. She was one of the last 5 standing. I was so proud! She is surprising me in a lot of ways. At her age I took an afternoon class at Franklin Elementary School on Archaeology. Just last week she completed a report on what she wants to be when she grows up. It was a report on Archaeology. Don't tell her but she and I could pass off as twins if you look at pictures of us at age 10.

We must be up to speed. Our Saturday went something like this.
5:30 got up showered, started laundry and dishwasher
7:00 gathered everyone but Ben to help someone move. He was camping with the BSA.
11:00 out to breakfast at Burger King
11:30 Michael went to do some church stuff, dropped Emilee at Kathy's to help watch Adam's
children, took Julia to the first of three birthday parties, stopped at the library to see if
I could get some more of the book I'm transcribing onto my jump drive, and use their
internet to get to paid research sites.
4:00 stopped at home to find Paul and Michael watching a little TV. We don't see that much
anymore.
5:00 Costco, Fresh and Easy and picked up Julia from her last party.
6:00 Walmart with Michael to finish shopping
7:00 dinner and a movie at home
9:30 Bedtime. Paul checked in at 10:15. He went out bike riding about 5:00. Emilee checked
in at 11:45. She had to bang on the door because someone locked it too early. Finally
midnight the house was quiet and settling in.
Then we started again Sunday morning, with Michael up at 5:30 for meetings, ...
