Happy Birthday

Just a short 75 years ago Paul A. Gillespie found his way into Erie Pennsylvania. Soon after his arrival to James and Henrietta, he found that there were so many interesting gadgets and gizmos to explore. Quickly everything was moved higher and higher, but this did not deter little Paul, he was very creative and driven, if you find a cord and pull on it whatever was attached would come to you, telephones were heavy back then.
1936 Paul is the little one in Grandma's arms.

Fast forward 21 years Paul had met a pretty lady, Carol Taylor, They were married April 6 1957.
Paul and Carol 1959.
I am guessing that this is the house on Wilbur street.

OK Brenda, mom brings you Flowers.
I am not much of a flower kind of person,
so it looks like I get Strawberries, not enough for a pie, at least not yet.
Miss you Dad.

Adventure with the dentist.

I've had two teeth that have been bothering me off and on for the last year of so. Then the clouds rolled in this week and for some reason they decided to really make it known that they were not happy. So off to the dentist. Paid for two simple extractions and an xray. Well after pulling and pulling until I thought he was going to pull my scull off he decided to do minor surgery. He broke the tooth into four pieces and then pulled them out. The other one wanted to argue also but finally came out. The dentist asked if I was against pain meds. Nope. He recommended I fill a perscription and take it before bed and first thing in the morning. Also 800 ml of ibuprofen as soon as possible. Michael took me to get my meds, soup, ice cream, pudding, and jello. End of story. Didn't need the perscription, ibuprofen has done the trick. Still a little bruised lip, but much better. And my husband sure does spoil me. No they were not my front teeth.

Abracadabra

My magician opened the hood to the car, attempted to start it. Then he came in the house and asked me to come and start it. 259,999 miles and the odometer is stuck and has been for quiet a while. I figure something serious. Nope broken wire. Magic!!! No cost at all just a few minutes of his time. I am very, very thankful. On the road again...........

Sadly, somethings don't last forever!

Today I went to work. Drove some tie backs out to Rachael at Power and the 60. Went back to work. Finished some drapes. Drove out to Ironwood and the 60. Was driving back to work to do more drapes and oopps. Just before the Greenfield exit the car just shut off. Coasted, coasted, and coasted a little more. Didn't quite make the exit. Pulled to the side. Popped the hood. Belts were all still on and in one piece, got back in tried to restart the car. Nope. Checked for over heating, no running just in the middle where it always runs. Locked it up and walked to the QT. Called Rachael to tell her I wouldn't be able to do the drapes. Called Mikie, who called Omar to come rescue me. He also asked me if the motor would turn, in layman's terms, did it say rr rr rr rr... or weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, when I tried to start it. Rr rr rr rr rr rr rr was the answer. Then I bought a newspaper, soda and walked back to the car. Omar was fast. I didn't even read a whole article before he was there. Do you know that if the chain between you and the truck is 6-7 feet long, in a Geo you can only see the tail gate, the driver's hand (barely) and nothing else. An adventure for sure, but we arrived safely home and he helped me push the Geo up into it's parking spot. There it will wait, not too patiently, for Mikie to work his magic. I really just want to drive forever. No gas, no problems, just drive, in this instance we have an speed bump in the road. I do love to drive. The Geo suites me perfectly. Still one tank of gas a week. Though 12 years ago it was only 8 dollars to fill it up. Last week it was 25. Our income hasn't quadripled did I miss something? I'm sure we will be back on the road next week until then I have other options for running the roads.

New traditions sometimes take a little time.
Pi day March 14
sadly today at 1:59 I was in Queen Creek and Mike was at work.
Hard to share pi with 30 or so miles between.
Maybe next year we will make the time slot not just the day.
Happy Pi Day!

30 Something

Mar 11 2011
Rachael was taken out to dinner by Dusty.
While she was away Kat invited a few people to come over and decorate Rachael's house.
There were a few nephews and brothers and sisters waiting for her
Lots of balloons and streamers taking over her living room.
Birthday cake with balloons and smiley clouds all over.
And in case things get out of hand, she has a new helmet and goggles.
After the cake and ice cream the little boys sucked the helium out of the balloons and laughed like little girls.
After the party Rachael went with some friends out for more partying.
Happy Birthday Rachael
