Rabbit Control

Over the past year rabbits have been getting more and more populous in our neighborhood, they have eaten almost everything that Ginger has planted. Friday when I got home, Dan next door pointed out a hawk on the pole by our house. The hawk was snacking on something, Dan's comment was: Are there any cats missing in the neighborhood? We laughed and then I went in and got out the video camera so I could zoom in on the feast. After careful viewing it was determined that it was a rabbit. After seeing that, I started to look for rabbits around the neighborhood, and saw very few. Ginger is excited by the answers that she gets to prayers, she just wanted the rabbits to leave, but this works also.

MIkes Wheelie

OK so nothing has been posted for a while, figured that I would at least put something on
when we were at the sand drags there was a guy taking pictures, I found them.
This is the first race that Paul and I had, (he won), but I did the better wheelie.
This is second gear just at the start of the race.

video

Saturday Oct. 10th we went to ET Motopark for the evening and participated in the sand drags. We took the 400ex and the 350x. Paul and Mike got to race each other once, Paul won, he was on the 400 quad and Mike was on the three wheeler, Mike had a great looking wheelie in first and second gear though. After a few races we switched bikes and Paul got to run the three wheeler, the clutch is now slipping on the quad, after some instruction on how this one responds, Paul was let loose on the track. The video tells, (how does Paul Harvey put it?) the rest of the story.

ATV Jamboree Day 5
Friday on our own.
Mike, Dusty, Rachael, Paul, and John
On Friday we were unable to go on the selected ride, the Razor was to wide for part of the trail, so we headed out on our own and took a ride From Fremont Indian Museum up the mountain.
at 10,000 feet elevation we were at Winkler point. This is where we took this photo.
Seems that I always take a picture of this mill, it was built in 1920 to replace the one that had burned down. There was a big gold mine in these mountains, and a now gone town of Kimberly.
I am not sure if this was a mill for gold or lumber, the wood was used for the mines.

Another picture from Winkler point, Dusty and Rachael

Mike taking a picture of Rachael

This is why the jamboree is the 3rd week of Sept. The leaves are usually starting to change.

More of Rachael, getting ready to take a picture of Mike.
It is fun to have extra family with us as we enjoy the mountains and the trail riding in Utah.
These are only a sample of the pictures that we have taken. There are thousands of miles of trails on the Paiute trail system, we have ridden lots of them and there is a wide variety climates and terrain. the Kimberly mountains and the Tushars are among my favorites. They have the most variety of trees and colors, along with stream crossings. Start planning now for the 2010 trip to Utah, we can always plan our own rides and what we would want to look at.
