Finally, the world is coming right side up. After being sick I thought I could at least benefit by loosing a little weight. Oh no! Same numbers, what a shame.
Benjamin is home with me this semester and we started school on the 5th just like everyone else. I had begun getting rid of home school stuff in September. I stopped at the 5th grade, where Julia is currently. Thank goodness. In December we decided to make a change and here we are. I must say homeschooling one is not as time consuming as doing a whole crowd. It's much easier to keep track of when he's trying to take advantage of me. This week we learned an important lesson, waste mom's time and she will waste some of yours. I am really enjoying Benjamin. Each day I find more and more to like about him. He and I do math together. I'm a little rusty so he gets to correct me at times. It might be good to know that mom's are human too, and sometimes I think my brain is mush. Could it be that I was sick or just my age? Rumors are that premenopausal women can be muddled in their thinking or maybe I've always been muddled.

I've decided I make a better care taker that a patient . I caught a bug and just didn't want to slow down until Sunday when I slept 7 hours of the day away, before retiring for the night. Finally I'm starting to feel human again instead of like some zombie. Today was the first day of school. I started off all wrong, seven minutes too early to my first few stops before I realized I needed to park and wait for some time to pass. Then the rest of the day just plugged along, until the afternoon run. I was driving the bus along when I noticed a car following so close that I only caught a little of him in my side mirrors. When I glanced down the isle I saw that it was DPS. He followed me for over a mile to a spot that I have to make a u-turn in the bus. I always wait until there are no cars so I pulled over and parked. He got out of his car and came up to the door and boarded the bus. I asked him if I had done anything wrong, he said no, but he needed two of my students out of the back of the bus. Their behavior was unacceptable and he would be taking them home. After giving me his name, badge #, phone # and police dept, I told the students to get off the bus and go with the officer. This was just another one of those things that has happened to me that wasn't covered in driving class or my bus book. Sometimes I do wonder, before I was born did I ask to do it all?!! Life is sure an adventure even when it's just plugging along. (PS He said they had posted a sign in the window where I couldn't see it behind the seat, and were making obscene sign gestures, interesting. I did tell him thank you. It's nice not to be the only referee, and the rest of my students might think twice about following their example.)
